Dear Everyone

My name is Faraj Al Mestrah, and I have a thorough understanding of resource management and energy systems because I have a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering. I obtained a Master's in Management Engineering to enhance my ability to combine engineering and business strategies, in addition to my technical experience. Second, I got business experience working as an educational consultant, where I was directly involved with professionals' and students' needs for academic and career guidance with an agency called World Study. My abilities, in leading teams effectively and communicating clearly while solving challenges have shown growth as a result of this experience.

I'm pursuing a PhD in innovation management because I want to use my technical and managerial knowledge to creatively address issues that can improve industries, particularly the energy sector in a better innovative way to meet the future needs. I look forward to contributing both academically and practically through the program by advancing research and developing strategies that advance sustainable innovation.

Hi Colleagues, I am Kayla Sampson. My professional experience is within retail buying and sourcing and I currently work as a buyer for a retailer. I also have experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language and Lecturing. I began my post-graduate journey in 2019 and graduated with a Master’s in Business Management in December 2022. My undergraduate degree specialised in Clothing and Textile Management which incorporated theoretical and practical courses.

I published one journal publication in the Expert Journal of Marketing in 2023, based on one of the objectives in my masters thesis. The title is “Critical Success Factors for leading Apparel E-trailers in Cape Town, South Africa’.

The motivation for pursuing a PhD in Innovation Management are to find ways to help grow and upskill individuals in the retail sector in South Africa.

My expectations of the course is to continue to learn and grow academically but mainly, to answer my research question in the best possible way and to make a valuable contribution to academia and industry.
