I am Biedima Rowland Jumbo, an entrepreneur with a multifaceted professional background in the energy and technology sectors.
The goal of my Ph.D. in Innovation Management is to deepen my knowledge of innovation and advanced research methodologies, and contribute novel frameworks to enhance the competitive viability of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) within an increasingly complex global environment.
My principal motivation is to leverage this research to influence policy, inform SME development agencies, and generate scholarly contributions across the academic discourses of innovation management, energy, and technology.
The philosophical orientation of my Ph.D. goals and motivation aligns fundamentally with the principles of positivism and empiricism.
The philosophical orientation of my research is provisionally underpinned by the following research tenets:
- Ontology & Epistemology: positivism and empiricism, where organizational reality is externally structured, observable and quantifiable.
- Axiology & Methodology: The research will strive for a value-neutral axiology, emphasizing the separation of personal values from the research process to ensure the objectivity of findings. This mandates a scientific (hypothetico-deductive method) epistemological approach focused on the verification of hypotheses and the establishment of objective, verifiable knowledge through systematic data collection.
